Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies
Over the past decade, God has graciously led this institution in equipping brothers and sisters for faithful ministry in the church and beyond. As a faculty member, I have witnessed firsthand the commitment to meaningful study, spiritual formation, and servant leadership that defines this community.
I am especially grateful for the students, whose desire to grow in the Lord continues to inspire me, and for the partnership of all who make this mission possible.
May the Lord continue to bless CCST Vancouver with wisdom, unity, and fruitfulness in the years to come.

Beloved Lord,
You are the Creator of all things, the One who brings forth existence out of nothing, the Beginning and the End. As long as the sun shines and the moon remains, all peoples shall revere You.
Ten years ago, who would have thought that in Vancouver there could be an independent Chinese theological school, recognized by the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia and authorized to confer degrees? Yet today, 93 graduates have already been sent forth by Your hand. O Lord, Your wondrous works turn the impossible into possible. To You alone be all glory and praise (Psalm 115:1).
Gracious Lord, may You establish and fulfill the vision You have entrusted to the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver. Continue to dwell among us, to equip and form every student You have called, so that they can be true disciples of Christ by imitating their gracious God, growing into spiritual maturity, building up themselves and others, serving the Lord faithfully, extending the kingdom of God, glorifying Your name, and becoming a blessing to many. May Your abundant blessings rest upon them, that they may in turn bring blessing to others. Hear this sincere prayer, offered in the precious name of our Lord. Amen.

In 2017, upon completing my duty as the founding Principal of Ambrose Seminary, my wife and I had considered returning to Hong Kong. Yet at that very moment, The Association of Canadian Chinese Theological Education (ACCTE) was preparing to establish a fully independent Chinese theological school in Vancouver, no longer affiliated with any local educational institution. When I became aware of this development, I readily pledged my wholehearted support. Given the limited resources at the time, I served voluntarily as Academic Dean, while appointing the capable Dr. Reuben Lee to oversee all academic affairs.
By the grace of God, and under the leadership of Principal Rev. Dr. Ivan Leung, the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver became the only Chinese-language seminary in Canada legally authorized to grant theological degrees; it is a milestone in the history of Chinese theological education in this country. In time, both Rev. Dr. Leung and I stepped down, yet the Lord graciously raised successors such as Rev. Dr. Edwin Lee and Principal Rev. Dr. Joyce Chan, through whom the school has continued to grow in strength and aligned with the development of the Chinese church in Canada.
I offer my heartfelt thanks and pray that in the years ahead, the Lord will continue to use this school mightily to nurture faithful servants for this generation and to magnify His glory.

Congratulations to Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver on its 10th Anniversary Celebration. It is a celebration of God’s wonderful faithfulness and His grace. The Apostle Paul reminds Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:13, that “if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot disown himself.” The past 10 years have been a testimony to God’s faithfulness. There were times when our faith was tested severely, but God had not withdrawn his faithfulness from us.
Looking to the future, it is imperative that we must do our best to provide theological training and to build up the next generation of Chinese Christian leaders to bring God’s glory to the world.

Congratulations to the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver on reaching this remarkable 10-year milestone! It is incredible to witness your contribution to equipping God’s servants in such a competitive environment. Thank everyone in the organization for their unwavering dedication and passion for the mission that God has laid on them. I am here to witness your next chapter of growth.

Establishing a theological school ten years ago was a formidable task, and today, sustaining its operation presents even greater challenges. Yet difficulty does not mean impossibility. As long as the school is built on God’s purpose, challenges become opportunities to experience His mighty power.
Financial support and student enrollment are often the greatest annual challenges for any theological institution. Over the past ten years, the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver has faced the same trials. These challenges will never cease, because God delights in our continual dependence on Him and in our experience of His timely provision. Therefore, the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver does not shrink back in the face of difficulty, but moves forward in faith.
From renting facilities to acquiring its own campus, the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver stands as a testimony of God’s mighty power, confirming that this school is a place He would use for training workers for His Kingdom.
Let us wholeheartedly support the vision of theological education at the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver, so that in the years ahead, the school will have the strength to cultivate more faithful servants of the Kingdom working together in expanding God’s work on earth.

Thanksgiving for the 10th Anniversary of CCSTVAN : Ten Years of Grace, Discipling the Next Generation
By the Lord’s grace, Canada Chinese School of Theology (Vancouver) has reached the important milestone of its tenth anniversary. We are deeply mindful that “unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.” Over these ten years—from nothing to something, from what once seemed impossible to what is now reality—every step has been a miracle and a reason for thanksgiving, a clear testimony of God’s leading, provision, and opening of the way.
Looking back, our hearts are filled with gratitude—
We give thanks that in the city of Vancouver, God has raised up a seminary to equip Chinese pastors, ministers, and lay leaders, so that many churches may be nourished and supported, and together we may raise up the Lord’s servants, build up believers, and strengthen the body of Christ.
We give thanks for the united dedication of churches, alumni, volunteers, faculty, supporters, and intercessors, through whose offerings the seminary has grown steadily on the foundation of truth—receiving recognition from the provincial government as a degree-granting school and as a designated learning institution, and academic accreditation from the Asia Theological Association. We give thanks as well for the many brothers and sisters who have been called, formed, and sent out from here as messengers of the gospel, serving Chinese churches and ministries in our city, across North America, and even in wider mission fields.
Ten years is only the beginning of the journey.
We believe that God is still writing a greater, deeper, and more beautiful story. May the seminary remain faithful to Scripture, faithful to its calling, and faithful in forming workers after the Lord’s own heart. May this place continue to be a spiritual harvest field where more people hear God’s call, respond to that call, and join the Lord’s harvest. Let us walk together in the vision of God’s kingdom and pass it on from generation to generation.
May all glory, power, and praise be to the Lord who has walked with us so faithfully over the past ten years, and who will surely watch over us in the years to come. May His grace and truth continue to lead us forward.

I am a businessman who was born in Hong Kong. I came to know Christ and became a Christian at the age of fifteen, and since then, I have held fast to my desire to do great things for the Lord — a calling that has never changed. I see myself as a simple person with a straightforward faith, without the slightest doubt when I come before God. The fact that such a person as I can stand firm in the business world is purely by the mercy of God.
From early on, I resolved to share the gospel and bear witness to everyone I met. I thank the Lord that in the past three years, He has fulfilled this desire of my heart. Through a home rebuilding project, I had the opportunity to testify and share the gospel with the construction workers, inviting them to church gatherings — some even made the decision to follow Christ! Witnessing God’s marvelous work in their lives has truly brought me joy and gratitude.
As a businessman, I travel around the world to attend trade exhibitions to promote my business. I once aspired to attend an exhibition in Mecca in the Middle East to share the gospel with Muslims. Though I did not make it to Mecca, God led me instead to Dubai — a small but meaningful fulfillment of that desire.
Being Teochew, I am known for my diligence and perseverance. There was a year when I had to travel between Vancouver and Hong Kong 34 times to establish a new company. I have often traveled alone to different countries to explore new markets. Yet in the quiet of the night, I have sometimes felt convicted — why am I so devoted to worldly work? Should I not serve God’s ministry with the same diligence and heart?
Since then, I have sought to dedicate two-thirds of my time to business and one-third to God’s work — sharing the gospel, visiting churches, and meeting with seminary leaders. Through this, I continue to learn what it means to put God first and to serve people with love.
I do not have many hobbies, but whatever I do cannot be separated from my faith. Daily exercise helps strengthen my body, allowing me to better experience God and enjoy the abundant life He gives. Each day becomes an opportunity to bear witness to His unchanging love.
I thank God for the great honor of participating in the theological education ministry of CCST Vancouver. God’s kingdom is vast, and Christ’s salvation extends to all peoples. Theological education should therefore be centered on pastors and teachers, supported by the wider body of believers, so that together the team may serve to the highest standard — glorifying God and benefiting others.
My heartfelt thanks to Rev. Dr. Francis Tam and Rev. Simon Lee for their recommendation and trust. It has been my privilege to take part in the establishment of CCST Vancouver. After more than ten years of service, I have never felt weary. If God continues to use me, His unworthy servant, I will keep pressing on toward the goal with all my strength.
I am a dreamer — and one of my greatest dreams for CCST Vancouver is to see the campus expanded. I feel a bit uneasy when people describe us as “small but complete,” for I long to see the school grow and flourish. As of November 2025, the news about the construction slowdown and real estate stagnation in Vancouver reminds us to pray even more earnestly and work even harder to bring this unfinished dream to life — that one day, by God’s grace, the dream will come true!
It is my hope that CCST Vancouver will be known far and wide, that churches in every nation will know our Lord, that local congregations will trust us, and that believers will be equipped through our seminary. May we also bring CCST Vancouver to more places, so that this beautiful seminary will become the first choice for many who seek to be equipped for God’s kingdom.

Adjunct Professor, CCST Vancouver
Time flies! In the blink of an eye, I have served part-time at the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver for ten years, witnessing firsthand God’s grace upon the school—from having no place of its own to acquiring a dedicated location, from a small rented unit to owning a two-story building. Even more, I am deeply grateful for the faithful staff who serve the Lord diligently and for the students who respond willingly to His call.
“The first step is always the hardest.” I believe that under God’s guidance and protection, the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver will, in the next ten years, grow in strength and grace, faithfully fulfilling the Lord’s commission and bringing glory to God while benefiting His people.
As the Apostle Paul wrote: “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).

Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver
As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver, we are reminded of a passage written fifty-four years ago by our beloved Rev. James Hudson Taylor III, titled ‘Chinese Believers, Where Are You?’ He sincerely urged the Chinese church to move beyond self-centeredness and to pay attention to theological training. He passionately called on Chinese believers to respond to God’s call, dedicate themselves to His service, and emphasized the importance of cultivating workers for the kingdom of God.
Reflecting on the vision and faithfulness of our pioneers, let me share seven conditions, which may be regarded as non-negotiable elements in the cultivation of faithful workers, so that we may encourage one another. These serve as both a model of character and a standard of scholarship for equipping students of the theological school, enabling them to serve in ways that are pleasing to the Lord.
Faithfulness to the Bible: A steadfast conviction in the inerrancy of Scripture, a hunger for the life it teaches, and the continual cultivation of knowledge and wisdom.
Proclamation of the Gospel: Being equipped to present God’s complete salvation, minister the holistic gospel, and effectively share personal testimony.
Spiritual Humility: Aligning the heart with the Lord, cultivating intimate communion with God, and placing Christ above all else.
Passion for Mission: Nurturing a missionary mindset in pastoral care, prioritizing urban mission, and reaching out to unreached peoples.
Competence and Diligence: Serving faithfully and without shame, wise stewardship of God-given gifts, and pursuing excellence in all endeavors.
Life Witness: Exemplifying godly character and spirituality, living by faith and righteousness, and passing on a legacy of godly life.
Cross-Cultural Perspective: Being rooted in Chinese culture, aware of current events, and guided by practical application.
I pray that the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver will continue to be used by God, growing daily in excellence, and truly standing as a theological school committed to equipping faithful workers for God’s kingdom.

The Lord is the One who brings forth all things from nothing.
Congratulations to the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver on its 10th anniversary! I give thanks to the Lord and to the school for giving me the opportunity to serve in the library. During those days, through the appointment of the Principal, the support of colleagues, and the assistance of students and volunteers, I was able to deeply experience the unity and fellowship we share in Christ, a gift that was entirely by God’s grace.
Today, seeing the growing library collection is a testimony not only to the offerings purchased by brothers and sisters, but also to the generous donations of valuable books from pastors, scholars, and fellow believers. These have become precious resources for the students and contribute to the success of the institution’s accreditation. All of this testifies that when a ministry aligns with God’s heart, He Himself moves and brings it to fulfillment. Glory be to the Lord who brings forth all things from nothing.
May the Lord continue to strengthen the Canadian Chinese School of Theology Vancouver, making it a fertile ground for His servants in nurture and truth seeking, to the glory of God and for the good of His people!

Media and IT Support Officer
As the Registrar, it has been my privilege over the past five years to walk alongside students on their journey of theological formation, assisting them in their registration and academic progress. On the occasion of CCST Vancouver’s 10th anniversary, my heart is filled with gratitude for the opportunity to witness, together with our faculty and students, how the seminary has grown under God’s grace and how He has used this community to equip His servants for the church. Serving here and becoming part of one another’s spiritual journeys has been a great joy. May God continue to lead CCST Vancouver to be a vessel of blessing to the Chinese church and this generation in the years to come.

It is with great joy and heartfelt gratitude that I extend my warmest congratulations to all in CCST Vancouver as we celebrate its 10th Anniversary. This milestone is a powerful testimony to God’s unfailing faithfulness and to the vision, dedication, and prayers of all who have nurtured this school since its founding. May this remarkable milestone remind us not only of the achievements of the past but also of the vision and calling that lie ahead.
Through theological training, spiritual formation, and the pursuit of excellence, CCST Vancouver has become a place where knowledge and character are shaped for the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom. As a staff member, I am truly blessed to share in this journey, and I pray that the Lord will continue to bless CCST Vancouver with wisdom, strength and grace in the years to come, so that its impact will extend for future generations.

Associate Registrar, CCST Vancouver
Thank God!
I am deeply grateful as CCST Vancouver reaches this significant milestone of its first 10th Anniversary.
Although my time serving at the School is relatively short, the many touching testimonies I have heard fill my heart with gratitude, gratitude for the Lord’s faithfulness and abundant provision.
In the days ahead, may the Lord continue to guide our path, granting wisdom and resources for CCST Vancouver to nurture more faithful servants and believers who love Him.
May God also stir the hearts of His people to devote themselves to be theologically equipped in response to His calling. May God move fellow sojourners to join in the ministry of theological education, so that more churches and communities may be blessed and built up.
All glory and praise be to our Lord!

I never expected that my first year joining CCST Vancouver would coincide with the celebration of her 10th anniversary! From the perspective of a newcomer like myself, what amazes me most about CCST Vancouver is how clearly the presence of the Lord can be seen everywhere. Whether it’s the story behind the founding of the school, the process of building up the campus, the faithful service of each teacher, the testimonies of each student’s journey to faith and call to study theology, the casual updates shared in classrooms and hallways, or even a phone inquiry made from Mainland China about our programs — every testimony left me astonished at the Lord’s power, and deeply touched by His attentive, creative, and unique guidance in every life. I sincerely pray that CCST Vancouver will continue to equip more of the Lord’s workers to proclaim the truth through theological education, and that more believers will become vibrant witnesses in reflecting God’s glory through their lives.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of CCTS Vancouver, my heart is full of gratitude as I witness God’s wonderful works. As a coworker serving at CCTS Vancouver, I deeply feel that this is not only an institution for cultivating knowledge, but also a place where God’s grace is seen. Through training the Lord’s servants and equipping believers, the Lord is raising up, in this generation, one group after another of workers who are willing to offer themselves to Him.
May CCST Vancouver, in the days to come, continue to be a channel of blessing and a help to many churches, so that more people, by knowing the truth and responding to God’s call, may themselves become a blessing to God’s kingdom.
